PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

• Material Properties High clarity, lightweight, good gloss, low permeability. Moderate chemical resistance. Cannot withstand high temperature. Not resistant to strong concentrated essential oils / solvents.
• Suitable Packaging Cosmetic bottles for toner, lotion, shampoo, body wash, diluted essential oil spray, cleaning products. Widely used for transparent cosmetic containers. PCR recycled PET is available for eco-friendly branding.
• Limitation Not for 100% pure essential oils, high-alcohol formulas or hot filling.

PP (Polypropylene)

• Material Properties Excellent chemical resistance, heat resistant (can tolerate hot filling), flexible, shatterproof. Semi-transparent or opaque. Good for vacuum airless bottles.

• Limitation Not crystal clear; only semi-transparent. Surface printing needs proper surface treatment.

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)

• Material Properties Great chemical resistance, strong barrier against moisture, rigid, impact-resistant, opaque matte finish commonly seen. Good resistance to strong detergents.
• Suitable Packaging Large capacity bottles, hand wash, disinfectant, lotion, heavy-duty cleansing liquid, industrial & household cosmetic containers.
• Limitation Normally opaque, low gloss. Hard to achieve high-end transparent look.

PS (Polystyrene)

• Material Properties Crystal clear, high hardness, nice glossy appearance. Brittle and easy to crack under impact. Poor solvent resistance.
• Suitable Packaging Thin-wall cosmetic display jars, sample containers, cosmetic caps, display packaging. For dry powder, solid cosmetics only.
• Limitation NOT suitable for liquid formulas, essential oils, alcohol-containing products. Contact with oils will cause cracking / crazing. Fragile for shipping.

PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate / Acrylic)

• Material Properties Ultra-high transparency, glass-like luxury look, high surface gloss, scratch resistance better than PS. Rigid.
• Suitable Packaging High-end cosmetic cream jars, luxury cosmetic containers, decorative caps, skincare sample packaging. Popular for premium brand packaging.
• Limitation Poor resistance to strong solvents & essential oils. Easy to get chemical cracks when contacting concentrated oil or alcohol. Higher cost.
